QUESNEL - April 29 - May 1, 2026

The Purpose

The purpose of Rotary`s Adventures in Health Care - Quesnel ,  is to introduce high school students, especially those in grades 10 and 11, to healthcare careers that can ignite early interest in the field and help them explore different pathways they might not have considered.

The Program

This program allows participants to explore numerous medical professions, including nursing, medicine, physiotherapy, medical technology and paramedicine, to name just a few, through hands-on activities, workshops, and interactions with professionals in the field.

The Team

The Quesnel Rotary team is a collaborative group with expertise from various sectors, including education, healthcare, and community service. Their diverse representation from organizations like School District 28, College of New Caledonia, both First Nations and Northern Health Authorities , and University of Northern British Columbia provides a strong focus on addressing community needs through interdisciplinary efforts.

NEXT STEPS FOR ROTARYS ADVENTURES IN HEALTH CARE ALUMNI

While Northern Health’s recent announcement introduced the Seek, Experience, Explore, Discover (SEED) program as a new collaboration with SD57, CNC, UNBC, and Northern Health teams, the concept was first explored during Rotary’s Adventures in Health Care in May 2025. Feedback from fifty students who took part helped shape SEED’s design and focus.

Interest in the inaugural program has been overwhelming, with applications exceeding available spaces. Adventures in Health Care alumni are receiving priority consideration, though participation in that program is not required.
