
Through a network of local health-related agencies we annually invite two or three to participate in the community day, that introduce the high school students to their work through onsite tours and brief activity demonstrations.
The schedule for 2026 is still being finalized, but in the past we have had BC Emergency Health Services, Psychiatric Nursing, Rotary Hospice House and BC Cancer provide on site tours and brief activity demonstrations.
The College of New Caledonia Career Exploration Day is an energy packed day led by the Future Students team exploring thirteen different Health Science pathways as well four Medical Science diplomas.
UNBC Career Exploration Day is a guided experience where visiting students rotate through health science departments, participate in demonstrations, explore campus facilities, and learn how university studies connect to real-world careers. The goal is to help students make informed decisions about their future education and career interests.

Northern Health Career Exploration Day is an interactive, on-site experience that introduces students to the broad range of healthcare careers within the Northern Health system. Through guided department tours, hands-on demonstrations, and conversations with healthcare staff, students gain a realistic understanding of how clinical and support roles contribute to patient care. The event helps participants connect what they learn in school to real-world healthcare environments and the career pathways available in their region.

All four sites for the program are being planned right now. January is the month that most sites will be announcing application deadlines.In the mean time, check with your high school counsellor and advise them of your interest.
