The program exposes high school youth to what are typically roles that often have face-to-face contact with patients for the purpose of diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
Some clinical professions investigated are behind-the-scenes, such as laboratory professionals whose work supports diagnosis and treatment. The professions explored with hands on experiences where direct patient care is normally provided cover a wide range from physician, nursing, phsychiatry, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and respiratory therapy to the allied professionals including medical technologist, medical lab technicians,, chemistry, biology,, dietitics, sonography, radiography and pharmacy.
In addition, participative hands on activities include wound care, intravenious preparation, stethoscope orientation and pain simulation activities, bed side ultrasound equipment, sim lab cpr and intubation, MRI in emergency and intensive care situations.
