  Polio cases have been reduced by 99.9% worldwide since 1988. But continuing efforts to end the disease are critical to eradicating polio for good. ROTARY has helped immunized over 2.5 billion children in the world's most sophisticated global health initiative 

 Thanks to the polio vaccine, dedicated health care professionals, and parents who vaccinate their children on schedule, polio has been eliminated in Canada for more than 30 years. That does not mean that it has been eliminated around the world.
