Once the initial student registration and parents waiver, etc. are returned by the sponsoring organization we will be in contact with them immediately by the email provided to confirm receipt. From that time forward all communication will go directly to the student and parents(provided there are multiple emails provided). There will be a more detailed application form sent to them to complete and return directly to Adventures in Health Care.
Those students being interviewed through the School District 57 process will all be notified beginning March 6, 2019.
The 2019 program will expect all youth to be in Prince George Sunday, May 5, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. for orientation which includes registration and dinner.
The program will finish Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 5:45 p.m. The air flights this year have been moved up an hour, thus the earlier dismissal. WE do expect some out of town students will not be able to catch evening flights and we will house and feed them as in the past before pouring them onto their flights early Friday morning, May 10, 2019.
The program sees more Rotary clubs from further afield participating. One of the biggest organizing challenges is to ensure that students arrive and depart in a timely manner, meeting the needs of not only the students but the parents that have to drop them off and pick them up. Yellowhead Rotary understands that although the Adventures program is important, so is school and family.
The assumption is that over 500 kilometres the students will travel by air.
