A comprehensive and rigorous process to select twenty Prince George School District students is underway. Information regarding the application and interview process has been available through the high schools in School District 57. The deadline for student applications to be returned to their school was on or before February 20, 2019.  All students who have submit completed applications will be notified by phone, using the number on their submitted application form.  Interviews will be held at AiMHI, 950 Kerry Street, Prince George on February 27th and 28th, 2019.

HOW DOES A SPONSOR GROUP REGISTER AND WHAT ARE THEY RESPONSIBLE FOR ?

  1. Applications will be accepted starting August 1, 2018 and will close once the 20 seats are filled or December 14, 2018 which ever comes first.
  2. Email info@adventuresinhealthcare.com for a Rotary Club application form or download from this site as of August 1, 2018.
  3. Fill out the form provided and mail it with the registration fee. Please be aware that the student naming deadline is not critical in the fall of 2018, just the club registration.
  4. Name of student to be sponsored by your club must be provided to the Rotary Club of Prince George, Yellowhead by January 31, 2019.  Generally clubs search for students in December or January. All required forms for the nominated student will be supplied to you with notification of acceptance.

The 2019 program will expect all youth to be in Prince George Sunday, May 5, 2019  by 5:00 p.m.  for orientation which includes registration and dinner.

The program will finish Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The air flights this year have been moved up an hour, thus the earlier dismissal. WE do expect some out of town students will not be able to catch evening flights and we will house and feed them as in the past before pouring them onto their flights early Friday morning, May 10, 2019.

The program sees more Rotary clubs from further afield participating. One of the biggest organizing challenges is to ensure that students arrive and depart in a timely manner, meeting the needs of not only the students but the parents that have to drop them off and pick them up. Yellowhead Rotary understands that although the Adventures program is important, so is school and family.

The assumption is that over 500 kilometres the students will travel by air.
