Early March 2020 found our organizing committee ramping up for a fourth consecutive year of hosting 48 high students from rural British Columbia in Prince George. Mapping out four days of hands activities and face to face discussions with health care workers. This would allow everyone the time and space to explore health care options up close and personal.
Unfortunately, life took a left turn and as we all now know COVID -19 has redefined our planet. March 13 was the day our lives started to change. I recall thinking that we could probably host the event in the fall. A few weeks later it became clear that it would be 2021 and we started planning for that eventuality. Now its mid May and unfortunately even 2021 looks in question.
With the future looking so murky when it comes to the bricks and mortar version of Adventures in Health Care, the organizers started looking at options to reach the youth. Taking a page from Rotary, who with over 1.2 million world wide members not being able to meet weekly for fellowship, they quickly pivoted to online meetings and are continuing their global volunteer work.
The results is what youth will soon be able to experience....ADVENTURES IN HEALTH CARE - ONLINE
