This introductory WHMIS course is to be completed as you would normally be experiencing scientific laboratories, hazardous materials and specialized equipment that are used regularly, both at UNBC and CNC.
It is important that you learn about your safety in this environment before beginning work. This is a first year CNC and UNBC type lab safety course to give you an idea of what to expect. At UNBC for example, you must complete this and have a gold sticker on your student card before entering a lab. Some of the info is just for our Adventures in Health Care days.
This web-based orientation provides the means of completing this program at any time of the day or night from any computer equipped with a web browser.
This program should take approximately one hour to complete.
The course was prepared by Anne Sommerfeld, Director, Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology, UNBC.
